PACTT Pfizer Academy Drug discovery and development

Dr. Plassmann was invited by the PACTT Pfizer Academy to lecture on the topic: "Non-Clinical Development – Concepts, Strategies and Potential Pitfalls" which covered the key aspects of non-clinical drug development such as the regulatory framework, principal objectives of preclinical safety testing, requirements to enable first studies in humans, interpretation of equivocal findings, required resources, possible outcomes and success rates. The presentation also included case studies to illustrate the challenges of non-clinical development and the translational aspects to humans from a practical perspective.
